Breaking news! Foreign media: Russia's Ministry of Defense reported that 8 US-provided ATACMS missiles were shot down

Russia's Defense Ministry said that its forces shot down eight High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) rockets provided by America during the night.

The Russian military said the HIMARS missiles launched by Ukrainian forces were of American origin. "Aerospace defense systems' units shot down eight HIMARS US-made missiles and another 72 drones," it said.

Russia did not specify whether there were any losses or casualties as a result of the barrage.

As of the time of this publishing, the Ukrainian military has given no comment.

On November 17, US officials and a senior US defense industry source said America had allowed its allies to deliver long-range HImARS rockets made in America to Ukraine so that the country can strike targets deep inside Russia.
