The Pistons came out with energy, and they controlled the game, 25-20 at quarter end. The second quarter began the same was as the first. After a couple of 3s from the Timberwolves, Detroit took an 8-point lead at the half. The third quarter opened with another Detroit run, led 42-22. Finally, in the fourth quarter, the Timberwolves finally fought back and took their first lead of the game. Despite that, they ended up losing 105-108.
Detroit started by getting off to a fast start after scoring 10 points to open the game, and they controlled the game from that point.
It wasn't until the third quarter that Minnesota began to show some life. They kept playing hard, and it eventually paid off, as they closed the quarter on a 14-0 run.
The game really got interesting when Detroit began to pull away in the 3rd to end the quarter up 21; however, when Detroit got up by 24 in the 4th, the Wolves finally began to fight back, going on a 30-4 run to take their first lead.
They had a chance to win after getting an offensive rebound from Anthony Edwards, but Edwards lost control of it in a scrum for the ball, and it was eventually awarded to Detroit. Then, Jaden McDaniels was called for a technical foul. The last seconds of the game were a wild back-and-forth, including a 36-footer from Edwards that almost went in at the buzzer.
