Interfere in British politics? Musk: The leader of the British party is "not qualified" to lead
US entrepreneur Elon Musk has said on social media that Reform UK leader Nigel Farage is "not" the man to run the party. It caused a stir.
In an interview with media, Farage responded to Musk's comments by saying that "free speech has returned" since Musk took over Twitter, which Musk recently renamed X.
However, Farage distanced himself from Musk's support for far-right activist Tommy Robinson, who is currently serving time in Britain for contempt of court.
Musk 'could donate huge amount' to former Brexit Party
It was previously reported that Musk was in talks to donate a "huge amount" to the former Brexit Party.
Some analysts say Musk's comments could exacerbate tensions with the British establishment, and further fuel speculation about who might lead Reform UK, which was formerly known as the Brexit Party.
The Brexit Party, in turn, was founded by Farage in 2018. In early 2024, he announced he would return as party leader, and there are persistent rumors that he plans to run for prime minister. The party has close links with former US President Donald Trump.
