Las Vegas Tesla Truck Blast Kills 1, Injures 7

Elon Musk has taken to social media to comment on the Tesla truck that exploded outside the Trump hotel in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve, killing one person and injuring seven others.

"We have confirmed with Tesla that the explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump hotel in Vegas was due to large fireworks and/or a bomb placed under the vehicle," Musk wrote. "The Tesla had nothing to do with the explosion. Cybertruck was leased and all telemetry up until the moment of explosion was normal. Tesla's senior team is working on this."

Musk: Explosion "Seems Like a Terrorist Act"

"The truck is leased. All telemetry up until the moment of explosion was normal. Tesla's senior team is working on this," Musk said. "Yes, it does seem like a terrorist act."

According to a statement released by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the explosion occurred while the Cybertruck was in valet parking at the Trump International Hotel and Tower. A man in the driver's seat was killed in the blast, and seven bystanders were injured.

The cause of the fire is "under investigation," and the police say they have "no other information at this time."
